Эссе: Major issues in Corporate Governance in Russia

In the conditions of deep and large-scale transformation in the Russian economy caused by both scientific and technological progress and its systemic and structural transformations carried out in the process of formation of the market economy and political democracy, the Russian economic science is faced with the issues of improving the management system.

Among them, it is particularly important to radically restructure not only the management system of the economy as a whole, but also the management system of individual enterprises. The main role, from this point of view, plays a corporate governance practice, since a large Corporation is defined as a shape of national economy and the main directions of its development as well as efficiency and competitiveness on domestic and foreign markets.

The problem of corporate governance research is currently one of the most relevant areas of modern economic research. Corporations in Russia are not yet coping with the role of a key link in our economy. Meanwhile, the Corporation is the most important institution of the modern economy. In industrialized countries, it is an integral attribute of the power system.

In Russia, the national model of corporate governance is at the stage of formation, it has not yet really earned, management mechanisms are idle, not finding sufficient application in the new environment.

That is, corporate governance in Russia has already faced a number of problems, to solve which it is necessary to apply certain measures.
