Эссе: Tourism broadens our mind

It is hard to imagine our life without travelling. Some people believe that travelling is beneficial for them as it broadens their mind, while others do not agree with this point of view. In my opinion, travelling is an important educational experience. Firstly, it is the best way to discover unknown countries and cultures. Travelers can communicate with other ethnic groups and learn many new thing about their habits and history. Secondly, travelling teaches people how to be more tolerant as it eliminates misunderstandings. Those who travel a lot know how important it is to keep an open mind. They realize that there are many religious and customs in the world so they fully appreciate them and do not have any prejudices. However, there are people who think otherwise. They believe that it is not necessary to travel to explore our planet. They say that modern people can learn knew languages or even traditions by using the Internet. Thus, it is better not to waste the time on commuting and travel virtually. Nevertheless, I cannot agree with. I strongly believe that the Internet can never portray the reality of seeing the world’s greatest sights such as the Kremlin, the pyramids of Egypt or Eiffel Tower first hand. It does not provide fully the understanding of the way people live in different areas either. To sum up, I am firmly convinced that travelling is vital for people as it expands their outlook and makes them more educated even though there are two different points of view on this problem.
