Эссе: Our college university life needs changes 

Many people believe that a University education is important for all young people. Others are rather sceptical about this point of view. In this essay, I would like to look upon this issue. Personally, I think that studying in a University is not essential for every young person. Firstly, most of the school-leavers are not capable to continue studying. They lack the necessary skills, such as analytical and self-directed learning skills. As a result, there are many academic failures and poor achievements. Besides, they reduce the overall level of higher education. Secondly, most of the young people decide to continue studying simply because they do not know what they want to do. They got used to studying and often are scared to try something new. 4-5 years in a University give them more time to postpone that important decision. Some people argue that higher education raises the chances of young people to find a well-paid prestigious position after they graduate. Moreover, it expands their horizons and raises their educational level. I cannot totally agree with that opinion because, despite their diplomas, expanded horizons and higher educational level, most of the graduates do not qualify for the jobs and employers prefer to hire people who have experience and practical skills rather than average graduates with poor knowledge and mediocre achievements. To conclude, I would like to say that higher education is not completely necessary for most of the young people. It is a good choice for students who understand why they go to University and have great studying skills.
