Эссе: Learning foreign languages - a waste of time

There is no doubt that learning foreign languages is an important part of live for everyone. Nowadays this activity has become very popular and people spend a lot of money on it. But is it really useful and necessary for each person? Let us find it out. From my point of view, learning foreign languages has plenty of benefits. I would like to support my opinion with the following examples. Firstly, language study develops other skills, for example, foreign languages can improve our memory because we need to learn a lot of words, expressions and texts in a short period. Secondly, there is a cultural reason for learning languages of another country. This will improve the understanding of culture because a person can read books and poems in the original and also see films. However, there are some people, who have another point of view. We live in the era of new technologies. Many gadgets have been already invented, they usually include online translators. Therefore, if you need something to translate, the electronic translator will do it for you. To tell the truth, I disagree with opposing opinion because none of the electronic translators will not be able to accurately translate the phrase and help in live communication. In conclusion, I would like to say that the study of foreign languages requires a lot of time, effort and money, but it is worth it. The knowledge of foreign languages could be very useful in different ways.
