Эссе: 1 language on the planet - it is good / a disaster

Lately people have been speculating about languages. Some of them claim that due to globalization, it would be better to have only one common language in the whole world. Others argue that each nation should preserve its individuality. It includes traditions and, of course, a language. Let us consider the pros and cons of both viewpoints.

To my mind, our world is developing. Different connections appear in many directions. Having one language could lighten the work of people. Moreover, nowadays specialists from Europe to America like exchanging their opinions in various spheres. Speaking different languages causes misunderstanding and even serious mistakes. Besides, people have a lot of global problems in the modern world. They have to solve them by combining efforts. One language can help in this situation.

However, I have mentioned that there is an opposite point of view. Firstly, each country has its own history which is extremely important. Each nationality appreciates it. The language is a part of their history. Secondly, it is very difficult to choose one common language. Many countries will seek to promote their own language. This rivalry will provoke conflicts and collisions.

Despite these rational viewpoints, I still think that our society will develop more and more, invent something new. One language can solve issues and help to achieve the best results in such fields as medicine, architecture, science.

In conclusion, I somewhat believe that we should rethink our views on the future. Speaking just one language will wipe out all the boundaries and hurdles that exist between countries and nationalities and, by contrast, will unite people all over the world.
