Эссе на тему: Ending extreme poverty by 2030 and boosting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner - пример выполненной работы

Although global poverty rates have halved since 2000, one in ten people in developing countries are below the international poverty line (us $ 1.90 per day), and millions more earn just over that amount. East and South-East Asia have made the most progress, but 42 per cent of sub-Saharan Africa's population still lives in extreme poverty.

What is it?

Poverty is not simply a lack of income and resources to sustain livelihoods. It manifests itself in hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic social services, social discrimination and exclusion, and the inability to participate in decision-making. Today, more than 780 million people live below the internationally accepted poverty line. More than 11 per cent of the world's population lives in extreme poverty and struggles to access health, education and sanitation. For every 100 men living in poverty, there are 122 women between the ages of 25 and 34, and more than 160 million children could continue to live in extreme poverty by 2030.

Facts and figures

783 million people live below the international poverty line of $ 1.90 per day.

In 2016, about 10 percent of the working population and their families lived on less than $ 1.90 a day.

Most people living below the poverty line live in two regions of the world: South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.

High rates of poverty are most often found in small States with fragile economies or in countries prone to conflict.

In 2016, only 45 percent of the world's population received any social benefits.

Poverty and the sustainable development goals

Poverty eradication is the first of the 17 goals set out in the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

In particular, it calls for 'the mobilization of significant resources from a variety of sources, including through enhanced development cooperation, in order to provide developing countries, especially the least developed countries, with adequate and predictable means to implement programmes and strategies to eradicate poverty in all its forms'.
